Registration information for 2024-2025 School Year!

We are thrilled to hear that you have selected St Gabriel as your child(ren)’s elementary school. We look forward to having you join our family.

How do I register?

If you are interested in registering your child(ren) for the 2024-2025 school year, the dates to register are as follows:

Sibling Registration Public Registration
January 29th to February 2nd, 2024 (by appointment only) February 5th to February 9th, 2024

If you already have a child registered in our school, please make an appointment with the school secretary at 514-934-2111 or email us at emcculloch@emsb.qc.ca during the sibling registration dates indicated above.

To register for Kindergarten, We ask that you reserve your spot using our online reservation system through the following link.

Online Kindergarten spot reservation links will be available on January 29, 2024 at 7 a.m.

Reserve a spot for Kindergarten at St Gabriel

Once you have reserve your spot for your child, we will be contacting you for an in-person appointment at St Gabriel to complete the registration.

Parents who are interested in registering their child(ren) at St. Gabriel should contact us for information about eligibility and programs. St. Gabriel also registers new students throughout the school year, however, acceptance depends on classroom availability and area of residence.

What should I bring with me?

In order to qualify for English instruction in Quebec public schools, students must meet certain eligibility criteria under the Charter of the French Language as set out by the Quebec government.

When you come to register at the school, please bring all the following documents to ensure that you will obtain your child’s Certificate of Eligibility. The school will then apply for the Certificate of Eligibility and you will receive it in the mail. You must return to the school with your original Certificate of Eligibility to validate your registration with the school board.

Student

  • Birth Certificate (Long Version Canadian Birth Certificate (with both parent’s names))
  • Medicare Card and Vaccination Booklet
  • Any Assessments/Reports
  • Proof of residence (for children born outside Quebec, within Canada)

Parent

  • Birth Certificate or Valid Passport of parent who received their education in English
  • The Permanent Code of the parent or sibling who received their education in English (High School, College, or University transcript) or the Certificate of Eligibility of the parent or sibling who attended/is attending an English school)
  • Social Insurance Number
*Please note that all the documents and information have to be brought to your registration appointment to ensure that you receive your child’s Certificate of Eligibility as soon as possible.

If you can't make it to our open house, school visits can be also arranged. Please call us at 514-934-2111 for an appointment.

School Territory

Each elementary school within the EMSB serves the community within it's boundaries. Children living within these boundaries and their siblings have priority over children living outside of the school boundaries when registering at the school. Students living outside of the school boundaries are not eligible for bussing.

International Students

St. Gabriel School welcomes students and their families to Canada from all over the world. Families living Quebec on a temporary basis (work or school visa) can be eligible to send their children to an English public school.
